What is digital literacy and why is it important?
Digital literacy is the ability to use information and communication technologies to find, evaluate, create, and communicate information, through digital channels like internet platforms, social media, and mobile devices.
Students who take a digital and computer literacy class learn how to create, communicate, and share digital content. They will also learn the basics of leveraging digital technologies safely, such as creating strong passwords, understanding and using privacy settings, and knowing what to share or not on social media. This is foundational knowledge for students to succeed in their higher education and future career pursuits.
Does this course prepare for the IC3 certification?
Yes, students will be prepared to sit for the three digital literacy assessments in the IC3 Digital Literacy Certification- IC3 GS5: Computing Fundamentals, Key Applications, Living Online.
Can I register for courses if I am an international student?

Please note that an extension fee will be charged. If you are funded through a third-party organization, approval may also be required. After 12 months extensions are no longer available, and students will be required to purchase the course again if they do not complete.

What is the passing score for this course?
The passing score for this course is 70%, however if you are going to sit for the certification exam it is recommended that you score a 90% or higher on all Post Assessments.
What happens when I complete the course?
Upon successfully passing the final exam, you will be awarded a certificate of completion from the school or organization that you registered through.
